Alexis and Tony’s wedding | Temescal Canyon Gateway Park

Lex and Tony are a fabulous couple that were married last October. I didn’t have a blog then, so photos were never posted…. I recently received a sample album that I ordered through Pictage using their photos and it renewed my excitement about their wedding day and made me want to share a few with you!

The wedding was at Temescal Canyon Gateway Park in the Pacific Palisades. It’s a beautiful outdoor location – small and intimate with everything close together and cabins on location so everyone can get ready there. I remember driving down Sunset Blvd on my way to the Park and just watching the gray sky get darker and darker as I got closer to the coast. Oh no… I thought – this just can’t be – I’ve been photographing weddings for 6 years and no joke (knock on wood) I’ve NEVER been rained on while at a wedding. I came around the corner and got ready to pull into the driveway when I looked up and saw the most amazing site – A huge break in the gray storm clouds and blue sky directly above the park!! I knew right then that all would be good and not to worry. I met up with the girls while they were getting ready and told them not to stress – there would be no rain during the ceremony (knock on wood, again).
The wedding was beautiful – the sun came out and the ceremony went off without a hitch. We took all the family/bridal party formals afterwards and not a drop of rain fell. It wasn’t until all the guests were seated (outside) for dinner that it started to get a bit drizzly. But, who cares by that point. Friends and family were given the option of going inside where the dancing was to be held later, but nobody moved. Zebra umbrellas came out, dinner continued and it stopped raining as soon as it began. Once the sun went down, strings of lanterns illuminated the dining and buffet areas. The rain didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits and the evening celebration was full of love, laughter and lots of dancing!!

All of the flowers were created by The Little Branch

The sun decided to join us for the ceremony – it was flawless.

A bit of rain didn’t stop anyone was enjoying their evening… how can you not have a great time with a Zebra umbrella in hand?
